Intuition Chase

We have a fascination with deception. Somehow! Our unsophisticated tunnel vision is the main cause.

alt text

I am not saying we like to deceive. But I am saying we always like to be deceived. More often than we know, to be deceived by our own selves.

I know it doesn’t really sound good. Facts never do.

When I asked for a liberating advice to be successful at work, many advised me to draw a line between my personal and professional lives. Nonsense. Straight bullying with authority or experience. I choose not to believe them.

Why do we all love to pretend so much to our communities as if there exists a line like that between personal and professional lives. No man can live 2 lives. It is just one tiny life that each of us got, after all. We still pretend as if some or all of us can actually do something like drawing that line of control. Ah … if only life can be so easily...

Mind Chaos

I’ve never been so frustrated.

I sat in a meeting for over 2 hours today where my juniors, juniors by more than 8-10 years, have talked things that sounded like Latin to me. They were talking about product development, cloud deployment, architectural features, storage and browser optimization, testing tools, version control systems, saas and pass conventions, code review processes, … computers and coding and software and IT. Giant dispair.

Not that I never sat in a meeting like this before. But I’ve never been so frustrated before.

Sometime ago, I wrote a similar scribble and published for public view. It was about not letting the system and concept of education touch me. My life has become worse from bad after coming out of university system. Nothing to blame the system, I suppose. Because the same system is still producing a lot of other potential employees for...

Fractal

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

I strongly believe that mathematics is nothing but intuition. One of the reasons that laid a foundation for such belief was when I encountered some qualitative knowledge of the fractal and how it came to be discovered.

Professor Benoit Mandelbrot, as Wikipedia says, was a Polish-born French and American mathematician. I heard only a part of it.

He was a mathematician.

Exaggerated, but not surprising that he used his mathematics genius to give a description of a piece of broken stone. His obsession with describing the shapes of broken pieces connected the world of complexity with simplicity (But it needs skill to see that connection, of course).

Talking about chaos in nature, messiness all around and his love for, on contrary, clear and regular-shaped objects like circles and ellipses, I read somewhere that he considered himself a mathematical...

Numbers

Experience is impossible without numbers.

Unless one goes beyond the realm of experiencing the known world. Spirituality is not discussed here.

All of us are emotional (social) animals, with an innate instinct/tendency to describe all that is experienced in words and shared with others/self.

One cannot live without exercising the skill of describing any experience, from the minutest to indescribable experiences.

The only thing that makes one’s descriptions sensible and comprehensible is their words filled with numbers.

We are now in an era where numbers not only shape our daily life, they are actually irreplaceable as long as we live within the space-time realm.

Our most fundamental experience of space and time is impossible without numbers. The top right corner of this post when I trial-published it on Medium.com showed “2 min read.” A Number.

It is not any recent metamorphosis in...

Career

Write

Looking OUT for help.

A lot of times, the 30-second debate between my colleague and me would go like this.

I: I am seriously getting sick of the fact that I am not able to change this process. [Imagine some arbitrary management process]

He: What’s wrong with that fact?

I: What’s wrong? Just imagine, I have nothing in my hands, no control over anything. Why did god give me this role if I have no control over anything?

He: You are blessed. You have no clue what happens if He gave you the control. Be happy that you have no choice.

No more talking at this point.

This conversation happens a lot of times and it ends at the same point each time. I have nothing else to say. As if reconciliation became inevitable and I feel like I am forced to accept the truth.

This reconciliation becomes utterly impossible when I have to think about the combination of choices and careers.

I came across...

Write

A writer who waits for ideal conditions under which to work will die without putting a word on paper.E. B. White

Am I falling short of words? Expressions? Inspirations? Thoughts?

Then why am I falling short of writing?

I thought of it several times. I haven’t found a perfect answer yet. I still wanted to put forward my thoughts here, essentially for myself.

Falling short of words

Technically impossible!

With our bloating prosperity of information spread across the entire web space, highly accurate dictionaries and thesauruses online, and with a significant minimum time and energy spent, is it not possible to write 5 short simple sentences in a foreign language that make sense in a couple of hours, despite a few excusable errors? Errors are least bothered about, if the content is even least interesting. Then why not in my own language, or perhaps in the long practiced...

An Emotional Letter on A Practical Issue

To the Partner Parent, from the other Partner.

Written on 26 Mar 2014

Dear partner,

I can’t tell you how immensely significant it is for both of us to learn stuff like this.

Before we are too late, as parents.

Not sure if it is a notion or a fact, but we both have a feeling deep down inside so firm that we will never be out of that rut-like regret’s pool. It sucks us deeper inside as time passes by. And that regret is that we are late in shaping our own careers.

We couldn’t use our youth time the way it was supposed to be used, be it for saving money, getting technically educated or even general learning from life.

We were late.

Maybe not as late yet, but we can sit for a coffee for that.

But as parents, I think we can try to be proactive. Maybe, we are already being reactive. Read the phrases below and see how breathtakingly severe is their impact on our minds and...

Relativity

I am the energy. Therefore, I am not …

Steps.

Let there be darkness.

Look for one fine night.

Go to the beach.

Stand in the sand.

Pick a handful grains.

Look into the heavens now.

Think.

The grains in your hand.

The sparkling flashes in the sky.

Where do you fit.

What’s your worth.

Is it all about size.

Size influences esteem.

Etcetera etcetera.

Fractal in.

A grain in your hands

Is full of molecules.

A molecule in it

Is made of atoms.

An atom in it

Is a cluster of particles.

A particle down there

Is built with more particles.

And so on and on and on.

Fractal out.

Hope your night has the moon.

Look above.

Into the moon’s eye.

Someone walked on it once.

The way he walked right here.

With a bit of elevated ease.

Look down.

See where you stand on.

You will see where you really stand.

The humble earth at your feet

Is over a sextillion times your size.

But still likes to stay at your...

Light

Physics is knowledge. Light is divine. Therefore, knowledge is divine.

Almost the entire phase of living on this planet solely depends on this godly matter. Light.

But such a talk has some sub-headings.

To talk about light is to talk about our ability to see.

Imagine there is no sunlight falling on this planet. But with some fictional chemistry happening around, let us say there still is life. Would our evolution still involve making of eyes? Of course, plants, for instance, don’t have eyes that we know. I think if there is no light, there is no point in having eyes. I am like an altruist when I say this. I believe nothing on this planet, or the whole of this universe for that matter, is without purpose.

Therefore, to talk about light is to talk about our given ability to see.

There is a reason why I say our ability to see is ‘given.’ Because deep down at the abyss where science hasn’...

It’s not just about drinking

It is more about breathing…. in! A Coffee is a coffee is a coffee!

Written on 10 Feb 2014

These coffee houses in England were places used for deep discussion of beliefs during the enlightenment…. - Wikipedia on the History of Coffee.

The other day, my colleague and I shared a serious cribbing session. Until a moment when a sudden pin drop silence ceased our conversation.

Education system in the country has been a hot debate among those who could not succeed in conventional policy structure. We began at blaming our rulers in the past, the so-called poison-ivy McCauley system that was not only famous for producing high quality clerical skills, but for replacing our original enlightening systems of yoga and Vedas education (which taught people only to think deeply), the exploited and abused post-independence freedom that led further demise of education, the slow but lava-like fluid...
